What do you do?

I am a grade school teacher, so basically I make a living out of it. I was with the first graders on my last assignment, and I had this crazy-fun life being with those kids. It was such a great learning experience, and I’ll forever cherish it. My two years in this school were spent being a librarian (educated thru modular approach), so that’s basically where I built my routine and program some part of my brain building a working library. I want to set library’s effectiveness beyond the conventional means— those sterotypes with barking old maidens who act as a mere keeper of books. Librarians who limit any human activity that at some point breathing is timed and engaging to any forms of verbal communication can trigger World War 3. I don’t want any of it to happen, I want a library with a friendly environment where students can read, research and study minus the redneck rules. So that’s basically what I want to establish.

What it’s like during schooldays, as a teacher?

It’s the usual waking up at 5 in the morning to beat the 7:15 first period, then facilitate the pupils. Hit midday power nap for 20 minutes then wound afternoon sessions from 1-5, then have remedial tutorial an hour after that. I still have to prepare for the next day’s class when I get home and plan whatever I deem necessary.  Read a book after dinner and meditate until sleep consumes me. Distressing thru photography and virtual contacts come on weekends.

How do you usually fill your days?

I have this unexplainable craving to glean and that’s probably the reason why I feel threatened when I miss the daily papers or if I don’t own the latest copies of fact books (Almanacs and World Records). I read a lot, and that’s where my affinity for different writing styles, diction, and perspectives stem. I find taking photos therapeutic and magical so that basicaly justifies why I keep happily snapping over the years. I listen to music, and spend most of my time pursuing for indie talents, because I’m queer like that, and greedy at some point. And listening to music precedes an hour or two of musing. I write to express and to free my demons inside, because as what Lord Byron said if you don’t write to empty your mind, you’ll go nuts. And I inhibit to my virtual world a lot.

When did you start writing/ photography?

As for writing, I remembered sending love letters to my crush when I was in the 4th grade. So if it fits to some juvenile training then that’s it. Growing up, I write to suffice for the feelings I can’t express thru face to face means. I correspond to my college’s publication where I learned some writing technicalities and the perks of campus journalism. I proudly say that it’s Tumblr which inspired me to venture creative writing and its likes.

As for photography, I don’t think I am there already. When you mean taking photos then I started as early as 2005. I had my first camera, a point and shoot 6MP (Casio Exilim) in 2007, had my first DSLR (Nikon D60) in 2009 and broke it in the same year. Venture the comfort of rolls from 2009-2010 (Minolta Dynax 505SI and Sports Illustrated Toy Camera) from January 2011 up to the present I give DSLR a second shot, still a Nikon D60.
